A current guide to the best hotels on the island of Praslin — one of the three most visited islands in the Seychelles archipelago.

Hotels and guesthouses (villas) on the island of Praslin, Seychelles, for independent travel and relaxation that I liked more than others. The main complaint from tourists who buy tour packages from agencies is usually directed towards the hotels. I’m confident that on your own, you’ll choose what’s best specifically for you. My list serves as a guide to aid your selection.

Traditionally, I’ve divided tourist accommodations into three categories — high-end luxury hotels, hotels for quality romantic or family vacations, and budget tourist accommodations — villas and guesthouses of good quality.

A total of 10 options that cover the entire spectrum of travel requests of different formats.

The choice of a hotel depends not only on the budget but also on the travel format and how much time you’ll spend in one place and your dining preferences.

Comparing the best hotels and villas, the brief description will help orient yourself regarding the location and understand better what to expect from the accommodations.

Before moving to detailed descriptions, I’ll immediately provide the top three best accommodation options — one in each category. Perhaps, you might not need to read further and will opt for one of them.

Top Accommodation Options for Relaxation on Praslin Island

The best area for relaxation on Praslin Island is considered the coast of Anse Volbert. It’s a relatively large tourist cluster that includes the main infrastructure, accommodation, dining, beaches, transfers to neighboring islands, and other entertainment.

Apart from this beach, there are several excellent resorts all over the island, including near the island’s most beautiful beach — Anse Lazio.

Best Beach Hotel

Acajou Beach Resort 4* — an excellent resort with ocean-view rooms, a pool, and the island’s best restaurant. Located on Anse Volbert. Nearby, there’s plenty of infrastructure and just a few minutes’ drive to the island’s best beach, Anse Lazio.

Best Honeymoon Hotel

Constance Lemuria — for when you desire more than just a beautiful beach vacation, top-notch service, and a wide choice of entertainment near two beautiful beaches, this hotel is what you need. How about a spa with hydro-massage baths in a bamboo grove?!

Best Budget Stay

Treasure Island Retreat — if you want to save a bit, cook for yourself or grab takeout from numerous takeaway spots but still live amidst stunning nature, choose this option. Furnished rooms, equipped kitchen, and the amazing Anse Kerlan beach at your disposal.

Where to Stay on Praslin — Top Locations

Praslin is a bit smaller than the main island of the Seychelles archipelago – Mahé. If you compare Praslin and Mahé, Mahé is a bustling capital, while Praslin is a quiet province.

Despite its provincial nature, Praslin has the necessary tourist infrastructure, including a small airport, a pier, and roads. By the sea, there are many excellent restaurants, and accommodations are practically near all the main beaches on the island, not just in the touristy area of Anse Volbert.

The most popular area for accommodation on Praslin is Anse Volbert (Côte d’Or), a tourist village with hotels and other infrastructure.

There is a fair amount of accommodation near Praslin’s most beautiful beach — Anse Lazio.

On the eastern coast of Praslin is the extensive Grand Anse beach, where you’ll find the island’s airport and several good hotels nearby.

Where to Stay — Best Hotels on Praslin Island

I’ve chosen three options in the categories of luxury, beach stay, and independent stay. Keep in mind that each hotel offers its own meal scheme. This could be all-inclusive, full board, half board, or just breakfast. Pay attention when booking.

In the independent stay category, meals are not included. This type of accommodation is called self-catering. Typically, such accommodation offers guests their own kitchen and might have a pool on the premises.

Self-catering accommodations include villas or guesthouses. Due to the combination of a democratic price and a high level of comfort, they’re popular among those who organize their own trips and plan an active vacation with a lot of movement and activities.

Which Seychelles islands are worth visiting?

Include Mahé — the main island of the archipelago, the beautiful island of La Digue with its top beaches, and also Curieuse Island, accessible from Praslin.
