How to find short-term housing in Kyiv, which area to choose, how much rent costs, and what’s included in the price? I’m sharing from personal experience — we recently had to look for an apartment in Kyiv… for ourselves! 😅
The reason was renovation. But your situation could be anything — a business trip, a weekend visit, or just a desire to live in a different neighborhood.
🐾 And yes, we had two cats with us 😸😸

At first, we planned to stay for a couple of weeks, then two more, then three… Long story short, we changed several apartments. Some were nice, others were a complete fail. So here’s what works and what doesn’t.
🔍 Where to search for short-term housing?
For long-term rentals, it’s easy — LUN, OLX, and local websites. But if you need a place for just a few days or weeks, here’s our top list:
- Booking.com — a must. Reliable, convenient, lots of options: apartments, hotels, hostels. Prices are often lower than booking directly.
- Airbnb — not recommended. The fees are insane, and the total cost becomes unreasonable.

💸 Daily rental: what’s included in the price?
✅ Furniture
✅ Appliances
✅ Dishes
✅ Utilities included
The price for a one-bedroom apartment (not in the center) is about 1000–1200 UAH per night. For long-term, the same apartment would cost around 14–18k UAH/month + utilities. So yes, long-term is cheaper, but for a short stay — it’s totally fine.
