In October 2023, Portugal’s Algarve region once again clinched the title of “Best European Beach Destination” at the World Travel Awards.

This remarkable victory marks the tenth consecutive win for this unique destination, making it a record-breaking achievement. No other beach destination in the world has managed to achieve such greatness by winning this prestigious award so many times.

Over 100 Beaches and 88 Blue Flag Beaches

Algarve is renowned for its stunning coastline, stretching over 200 kilometers and boasting more than 100 beaches. Some of Europe’s most beautiful beaches can be found here. What’s more, Algarve proudly hosts 88 Blue Flag beaches, solidifying its position as one of Europe’s leaders in the number of awarded beaches.
