Ukrzaliznytsia continues to delight travelers with new routes. Now you can take a new train to Budapest and Vienna! Starting from December 10, train No. 143/146 will run directly from Vienna to Chop and back. At the Chop station, you can transfer to a convenient train from Kyiv (via Lviv). This information was posted on the carrier’s Facebook page.
The connection with Vienna will also be convenient for passengers of the Lutsk-Rivne-Lviv-Chop train.
The schedule is designed so that you travel at night in comfortable sleeping cars of Ukrzaliznytsia (Kyiv, Rivne, Lutsk, Lviv – Chop), and during the day, you travel in modern seated cars of 1 or 2 class Hungarian trains.
A ticket from Kyiv to Vienna (with a seated car of 2nd class and a compartment) will cost about UAH 2500, which is cheaper than the direct ‘Ritz’ class train by almost UAH 1000.
The train from Kyiv departs daily at 16:38, and from Chop to Vienna at 08:23. You can make a transfer in Budapest on the way. The return train from Vienna to Chop departs at 10:42.
You don’t have to worry about the transfer in Chop. The connection will be convenient, and the train will wait for all passengers in case of delays.
Tickets for the domestic route within Ukraine can already be purchased in the Ukrzaliznytsia app, chatbots, on the website, and at station ticket offices. As for the Vienna – Chop – Vienna route, tickets can be purchased at international Ukrzaliznytsia offices or in Austria. Online tickets to Hungary and Austria will become available in the coming weeks.
