In Turkey, a new budget airline will start operating, as Turkish Airlines is creating a new low-cost airline that will operate both in domestic and international markets.

The new budget carrier will operate based on AnadoluJet. Recall that AnadoluJet has been in existence since 2008. It is not a separate airline but a brand within the structure of Turkish Airlines.

The new carrier will be named AJet and will be an independent airline, 100% owned by Turkish Airlines.

AJet plans to start its first flights in the spring of 2024. The airline’s fleet is planned to be increased to 200 aircraft, making the new low-cost carrier the largest in the region.

The principle of operation of the new airline is a maximally simple service without additional costs. This will reduce the expenses for maintenance and service, and consequently, reduce the cost of air tickets. In turn, it is planned that low prices will lead to even greater growth of Turkey as a tourist destination.
