Turkish Airlines has announced the start of ticket sales for its inaugural flights from Istanbul to Melbourne, commencing from March 15, 2024.
This route will mark the airline’s first service to Australia.
A special fare for flights from Istanbul to Melbourne will start from $1199 round trip for the economy class, valid until May 15, 2024.
Flights will operate three times a week with a brief layover in Singapore.
The total travel time from Istanbul to Melbourne will be 19 hours and 40 minutes, including a 1-hour and 30-minute layover in Singapore. In the return direction, from Melbourne to Istanbul, the travel time will be 20 hours and 20 minutes, including a 1-hour and 40-minute layover in Singapore.
Turkish Airlines plans to introduce non-stop flights in the future and expand its network in Australia using new long-haul aircraft such as the Airbus A350-1000 and Boeing 777X.
