Qatar Airways, in collaboration with Starlink, is set to become the largest airline to offer free, high-speed, low-latency internet on select flights in the near future.

Passengers will have access to lightning-fast Wi-Fi onboard with speeds of up to 350 megabits per second. This internet service will be suitable for streaming videos, enjoying entertainment and sports content, gaming, as well as seamless internet browsing and more.

This ultra-fast internet network is based on Starlink technology, the world’s largest satellite internet system developed by SpaceX. Qatar Airways is currently implementing this system on its aircraft.

Mr. Akbar Al-Baker, the Head of Qatar Airways Group, emphasized their pride in partnering with Starlink and their commitment to providing uninterrupted Wi-Fi to passengers. This collaboration underscores the company’s dedication to innovation and cutting-edge technology.

Soon, fast and free internet will become a reality for travelers on over 160 destinations worldwide. Thanks to Starlink, internet access will be available throughout the entirety of the flight.

In addition to Qatar Airways, several other airlines, such as JSX, Hawaiian Airlines, airBaltic, and ZIPAIR, are also implementing this technology.
