Five Swiss and twelve Austrian ski resorts have made it to the top 20 in the global ranking of best resorts by Omio. This study looked at over 6,000 resorts, factoring in ticket prices, customer reviews, ski school options, trail lengths, and event offerings.
The top spot went to Arosa Lenzerheide in Switzerland, scoring 91.73 out of 100, just edging out Austria’s Sölden, which scored 91.68. A daily ski pass at Arosa Lenzerheide is €30, with youth passes at €59 and kids’ passes at €29. With that, you get access to cozy slope-side restaurants and cafes, 225 km of reliably snowy slopes, and 43 lifts that keep lines moving.
The nearest airport is Zurich, and this resort even hosts a leg of the World Ski Cross Cup. Overall, European resorts dominate the rankings, taking all 20 top spots, thanks to their prime Alpine locations.
