Indonesia Introduces E-Declaration: What Travelers Need to Know

Date:

Share post:

Starting September 1, 2025, Indonesia joins the club of countries that like their tourists a little more… organized. From now on, you’ll need to fill out an electronic declaration before flying in. Relax, though — it’s quick, painless, and doesn’t ruin your Bali plans 🌴.

🛬 Where the New Rules Apply

At first, starting September 1, 2025, the rule covers travelers arriving at:

  • Jakarta International Airport 🏙️,
  • Bali (Denpasar) 🌴,
  • Surabaya 🌊.

From October 1, 2025, the requirement expands to all airports across Indonesia — from massive hubs to tiny island airstrips where passport control is literally one desk and a sleepy officer.

📝 How to Submit the E-Declaration

  1. Go to allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id
  2. Fill out the form no earlier than 3 days before arrival
  3. Get your QR code
  4. Show it at passport control

That’s it! No QR code — no tropical getaway. The whole process takes just a few minutes online.

🎫 This Is NOT a Visa

Important reminder: the electronic declaration isn’t a visa.

For Ukrainian citizens, visa rules stay the same:

  • apply for an e-VOA online in advance,
  • or grab a Visa on Arrival at the airport for around $35 USD.

Both options allow you to stay up to 30 days, with the possibility to extend once for another month.

💡 LifeIsTravel Tips

  • Heading to Bali? Apply for your e-VOA in advance — trust us, skipping the line is worth it.
  • Submit your declaration within 3 days before flying; otherwise, the QR code won’t work.
  • Planning multiple trips? Consider a multi-entry visa for extra flexibility.

🏝️ Bottom Line

Indonesia is going digital, but don’t worry — nothing dramatic has changed:

  • visa rules for Ukrainians remain the same,
  • you just need to tick one extra box on your travel checklist.

The sunsets in Bali? Still epic. The ocean? Still perfect. The rice terraces? Still Instagram gold. 🌅
